Reflections on opening night and the exhibition

It was a packed night at Red Hill Gallery for the opening of ‘Cool Sand, Warm Light’. The art gallery buzzed with excitement as guests admired the vibrant paintings, their laughter mingling with the clinking of glasses. Attendees sipped on drinks, engaging in lively conversations about the stunning artworks on display. The night was a perfect blend of sophistication and joy, leaving everyone with unforgettable memories of a colorful and fun-filled evening.

This September, Red Hill Gallery was pleased to present Brisbane artist, Nick Olsen and his latest work in his exhibition ‘Cool Sand, Warm Light’. Nick explored the intricate relationship between architecture and cultural identity in his captivating artwork. His focus on light, tone, and colour unveiled the essence of our living spaces, reflecting the evolution of our collective history.

Gallery Director Margaret Campbell-Ryder reflected on the work of Nick Olsen saying,

“Nick Olsen is an artist with a unique style that has universal appeal not only in Australia, but also internationally. Nick revives our past relationship with the beach, urban landscapes, Queenslanders which are a stalwart of our heritage”.
